We would like to welcome David Mendes.

David Mendes is Valley Methodist Churches newly appointed youth pastor.
He joins this community along with his wife of three years, Natalie.  He was raised in Edgemead, Cape Town, where he completed most of his schooling.

David has previous youth ministry experience that has come with serving in the youth ministry team of Durbanville Methodist Church, Cape Town, and has led teams on youth leadership camps run by Gateway Youth Foundation.   He has also been very involved with Chrysalis, and has served consistently in the Cape of Good Hope Community.

He also has previous qualifications and experience as a teacher in both Drama and Musical Theatre, which he attained at the Waterfront Theatre School.
David has a passion for walking a spiritual journey with young people and for sharing God’s love and grace with them, while identifying with them on a personal level.

When he is not working he can be found writing a new song or fishing on the side of a dam. Other hobbies include gardening, watching series, PC gaming, and eating sushi at “all you can eat” sushi buffets.
